      Pros

      You can mold your own path once you show your worth. Not much formal training is provided, but miss-steps are tolerated as long as you learn from it. Time off is hardly ever met with disapproval.

      Cons

      There has been a creep of management by fear in recent years. Projects seem to be politically motivated and unrealistic deadlines are set on some. Once you become the go-to person, your life will totally rotate around your job.

      Had a summer job at a state park, loved every minute of it. Lower management was lovely and higher management had no impact.
