      Great technology. Great people

      Cons

      It's an old school company with lots of legacy which can mean baggage. There's a ongoing re-org being orchestrated by a couple of big management consulting houses and they are doing the best they can to nudge the culture and mindset of the company to be more current. There's no lack of enthusiasm for the "new" company to emerge from the ashes but it's an ongoing challenge to realize that vision.

      Nice People. Semi-good benefits. Reasonable vacation days.

      Old corporate culture. Not much room to grow and advance. Old mentality when it comes to many aspects from management all the way to ways to program.

      Good Technology. Reasonable work life balance.

      Cons

      Engineering management in the bay area has no idea either about management or technology. Leader is more interested in marketing himself upward rather than doing the right thing for the product/company/people. Highly political environment in the bay area with rewards to the "inner circle" rather than by merit. Absent or incompetent HR in bay area.
