Good experience with Aprimo, but glad I left
Pros
- You'll learn quickly the benefits and drawbacks of working for a large corporation. - Generally, they provide you with what you need to do your job. - A big company means room to grow your career and transition to a new job. - A big name looks good on a resume. - Good learning opportunities.
Cons
- Management seemed disconnected from employees that are writing code and doing support. - 3 years seemed to be the average job turnover, which isn't great but isn't terrible. - Not much flexibility in terms of a work/life balance. You work until the job gets done, but no reward or recognition for working beyond 40 hours. - Pay starts low, but may go up if you have an offer in hand. Negotiate! - Making marketing software isn't exactly soul enriching.
