Pros

Good people and a fun work environment with challenging work. Decent medical benefits and the profit sharing is outstanding. Gym on site and other free classes available at the gym down the street. Also, periodic company events provide some fun diversion.

Cons

Aggressive project scheduling can lead to some long hours with upper management seeming to have little appreciation or even awareness of the effort. For the last couple years a review of "exceeds expectations" has resulted in a ~2% pay increase. Recently reduced the number of employees offered stock options.

Pros

Teradyne's core values stress openness, honesty, and open doors. As a field employee, I have access to the VP GM or project engineer as needed. Teradyne's Defense & Aerospace division is large enough to carry its weight as a market leader but small enough where can I have impact on the business and processes. Teradyne corporate structure supports its divisions very well with centralized organizations like finance, procurement, and a global repair operation.

Cons

The annual self-assessment is complicated, awkward to work with, and overly time consuming. Reliance on Lotus Notes for email, calendar, and contacts is a drawback. Teradyne is more of an engineering driven company rather than market driven but builds top quality products.
