Pros
The company really likes to do events, cater food, reward hard workers promote from within, etc., but that is not what makes the place special (as good as all that is). What makes it special is the people and the exciting work, which has gotten much more exciting over the past year with new contract awards, company growth, and additional team members within corporate that make the experience dealing with corporate staff more enjoyable. It's a real step forward from the days when the company was the CEO and the President doing everything and managing 10 employees now to 100 + staff members mostly within the Virginia and DC area, it also seems like the company is generating buzz and interest in the top workplaces best list. Although I've worked at Best Companies for a few years, I've never been as excited as I am now by the people who are there and most important of all you dont get treated like a number. The leadership team calls to check in on me and my team periodically to let us know they haven't forgotten us. I look forward to meeting the entire company at the 2023 Holiday Party coming up soon.
Cons
Exciting work and always striving for new things inevitably means that not everything will go right the first time. That can lead to pressure to get everything done in time as no one wants to let anyone else down, but I'll take that over "boring same old" any day. Remember we meet difficult deadlines and program deliverables that are not easy especially the program that I manage.
Before finishing this review I must comment on the one negative review I have read here that I find depressing. This disgruntled ex-employee paints a picture of a workplace I don't recognize at all. is talking negatively about the CEO. And also for the disgruntled employee who left the one-star review last year, I bet there is more to that story than that person is stating. You be the judge. I assume it is a person with a grudge who got into trouble and was fired or quit before they were terminated.
