Pros
I was contracted to design Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for the Tesla factory floor in 2017, and later, in 2019, I interviewed for a power electronics position during my junior year of college. The work was challenging—easily 12-hour days—but if you're looking to do something innovative, you shouldn’t expect it to be easy. I enjoyed working with intelligent, highly skilled colleagues and was able to learn a lot. The fast-paced environment pushed me to grow quickly, and the pay was competitive enough to make the hard work feel worth it.
Cons
Deadlines were tight, and you had to push people hard to keep up with the pace. While I appreciated the challenge, the high-pressure culture meant that things could get intense. Management often lacked technical skills, which was frustrating
