Pros

If I could rate this place -10000 stars I would Only pros I can think of is you get healthcare because they're required to give it to you lol and employee stock program but that depends on what the CEO decides to tweet that month

Cons

-No remorse or compassion for their employees at all. Bed bug infested offices that go unchecked and untreated for weeks because management doesn't care and isn't even in the office to prove we aren't lying. Once the issue gets addressed 2 weeks later (right before thanksgiving) we are forced to use our own accrued PTO to leave if we are "uncomfortable" (mind you it takes working full time at this place for over a year just to accrue enough time to take 1 week off) - recruiters will lie to you until you accept the job and managers will not keep to whatever your recruiter promised you - be ready to be scared for your job no matter how perfect of a worker you are every 6 months they decided to makeup performance reviews - good luck getting a raise at this place they seriously expect you to be doing your job and 5 others at your level as well as your supervisor's job to even be considered for that LESS THAN A DOLLAR RAISE - Once you reach a certain level, they will look for reasons to fire you especially if you use pto all the time - Management is entirely useless the project managers get paid over 100k a year to sit around and giggle all day or not even come into the office at all, also they quite literally have no idea what is going on in the projects half the time but will chime in to humiliate you in a project meeting just because you point out an issue that clearly needs to be addressed - literally started secretly firing everyone who was pushing to unionize our department because of how bad the treatment was - This place is such a joke the cons list could be a 20 page manifesto. I seriously urge anyone to go work literally anywhere else you can make more money with more job security at a fast food chain. This is all specifically the autopilot department but knowing people in factory settings say it's just as bad. Avoid this puppeteer company at all costs.

Pros

We are all doomed. The day is here where they now have power. In their eyes - they've trained for this. Watching episode after episode of game of thrones. Emulating the dark triad of narcissistic personality traits - ready to play it out in the real world at work and become the ultimate alpha. After all, aren't all highly intelligent people arseholes. So you show up to Tesla and you're not an arsehole - what's next? Tough cookies for you kiddo...Ready to get provoked and hazed by a long line of emotionally underdeveloped man children. Ready? So you decide to set a good example anyway, showcasing pragmatism, grit, hard work and witty intelligence. Nicely done - now you've disturbed the insecure children who managed to secure a spot in leadership wo the skills you possess and now you are on their radar. No sweat tho, you're a great person and people will surely figure it out soon, right? Wrong. Using reason to solve problems and support others around you?... whoa hold up hotshot...you need to slow down. Outshining your manager is a sure way to hurt someone's feelings - best stay agreeable with the willful ignorance and back those who have the authority even if that means lobotomizing yourself. I know it sounds strange but put your integrity aside for a second, take a load off and sip the kool aid. Setting the bar high for yourself and others? Perfect...you will be punished with a Manager who will gaslight you with some BS about why you aren't worthy of basic human respect and growth opportunities. Meanwhile the mouth breather in the corner who has all the time in the world to play politics and create chaos for others has somehow managed to get promoted twice in one year. Oh yea - this is real. But you still have hope, this is not the America you know but you still believe there is right in the world so you keep going. Then one day you wake up - and just move on.

Cons

For people who are genuinely considering employment with Tesla Fremont - heed the following. This is not a place for professional, mature individuals with high EQ and definitely not suitable for professional women. Read up on Stockholm Syndrome or 'Stanford Prison Experiment of 1971' if you want to understand the 'why' in how a culture can turn so rotten. However, there is much to be gained if you are willing to compromise a few things and if you are intelligent enough to see through the bs and not play the game. Working at this company is one of the few places today where you can learn just about anything - with the right intentions and grit you will gain knowledge far beyond what most companies can offer you. Bearing this in mind you will more than likely come across several individuals in leadership who learned the wrong way. Thanks Elon. Monkey see Monkey do. Bad behavior is somehow rewarded at this company. The lack of emotional intelligence in leadership breeds abuse of power, gaslighting, bullying, retaliation, harassment which is rampant and from my experience absolutely intentional. Not everyone in leadership is like this but you will find more bad than good here. You will find scenario after scenario where young and incompetent leadership have access to highly intelligent and experience subordinates - this is by design. How do you think Elon was able to rewrite history? People below leadership are the true builders and problem solvers. This company will show you what you are actually made of since integrity and character are not rewarded. I watched several individuals who thought they had integrity use willful ignorance as an 'out' bc it was the easy thing to do and out of paranoia and fear it was the only thing they thought they could do. Most people find themselves complicit to the silent rules of the road. Best of Luck.

Pros

I was initially excited to work here. I have always admired Tesla vehicles. The benefits are decent and that facilities are nice to work in. I also appreciated that they didn't force overtime. In at 9, out at 5:30 promptly.

Cons

I could tell very quickly that morale was not good in a lot of departments. My dept lacked proper training. Training was typically one week long, but the majority of time was spent going over admin stuff (benefits, schedules, how awesome Tesla is, etc.) Very little attention was given to job expectations other than vague cliches. The work was quite arbitrary in nature, so when you asked two different people to explain, I always got a different answer. They would say to make the most educated guess when things were ambiguous. But you always got demerits (minor or major critical) anyway. My boss' boss would spend a couple of hours everyday pulling people in to tell them what they were doing wrong. I was told in the same sitting that "Tesla values you and wants you to succeed", but also "If you don't improve, you will be put on a PIP". If you feel that a very hectic pace, rampant micromanagement, a plethora of ambiguity, and a workplace that doesn't care about its employees, then this might be the job for you!
