Pros

Tesla offers fantastic benefits, and working there kept me busy. Collaborating with my teams was enjoyable, despite the initial growing pains. Once we overcame those challenges, there was no project we didn’t complete. The diverse projects always give us something to look forward to, and I also appreciate the company apps we use on our phones.

Cons

The prevalence of inexperienced workers in professional roles can have significant consequences. While it may save money upfront, the long-term costs can be much higher. Mistakes made by inexperienced staff are often masked by the company's financial resources, creating a false sense of security. Even before the layoffs, the workplace culture fostered deception and exaggeration, with no room for truth-tellers. Instead, people tended to tell the boss what they wanted to hear. Inexperienced managers, lacking leadership skills and too focused on personal advancement, have contributed to low morale and an uncertain future. Despite being a Fortune 500 company, Tesla sometimes feels like a startup due to these challenges. Companies need to strike a balance between hiring fresh talent and ensuring proper guidance and mentorship to help them succeed. Choosing people to lead because they have a degree from a top college isn't good leadership nor does it instill confidence in the teams.

Pros

Talented Cohort Challenging Projects Large space of growth Fast-Moving Environment

Cons

Bad work-life balance limited benefit Pay is kinda low for DS compared with other tech companies. just got laid off while having two important projects in hands, including an already-verified algorithm that is going to directly improve production yield (good luck with monitoring that now I guess) and got 4 out of 5 during performance review ( majorly the highest someone can get without approval from the director ), neither my senior manager nor my director manager know the reason why I was picked and the severance package is also incredibly low.
