Pros
I was in a start up practice for TetraTech. During that time I had a lot of freedom and no one standing over my shoulder for the most part. I was able to business develop as much as I wanted without the typical red tape.
Cons
Chiefdoms between offices and overall lack of cohesion and work sharing. A big lack of quality control practices from what I experienced. General lack of concern about employee's overall happiness from managers and corporate. I was lucky enough to see another division within my office that functioned much better so might not be same experience for all groups. In the end there was way too much turn over in my group and bad management to hang around.
