Toxic Work Evironment

Pros

Working for the Texas Children's organization is exciting, but the Health Plan is viewed as a separate organization. Texas Children's has great benefits and employee resources.

Cons

Health Plan leaders are unqualified and perpetuate a toxic working environment. Employees are not recognized for successes and are not promoted appropriately. The only employees promoted are friends of the leaders. Educated and intelligent employees are regulated to menial tasks and not given any room for advancement opportunity. Women regularly stab each other in the back, so nobody trusts each other. Very unprofessional.

Pros

Wonderful Clientele Some wonderful members of leadership Great place to learn supportive management

Cons

Orientation is not organized. Orientation staff really do make your life miserable, they will focus on everything you do incorrectly, or not their way. They even tell you, I like it written this way, and this other therapist does it this way. And you have to follow/ Now that I am at another place, the OTs need to learn what OT is, they are practicing PT--just adding an adl to the end of the sentence.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. No raises last year for the health plan

Cons

Management and Leadership just push to get more and more out of you. They make frequent changes and people making decisions do not understand the concept of Case Management and how it can help members and provide cost savings.
