Pros

Texas Mutual offers some of the best benefits one could ever need and management strives to keep their rank and file employees happy and healthy. This is a very finically stable company and with the changing of the guard at the C level should prove better for employee morale. If you are in the twilight of your career and want a slow and steady pace until retirement this is the place for you.

Cons

Ambition from rank and file employees is not a trait that management appreciates. Team leads and line managers are typically promoted to that role based on tenure and not their ability to lead. If you are a technology professional do not be surprised by management obfuscation when attempting to introduce efficiencies.

Pros

Excellent pay and benefits, great co-workers, training opportunities, many different departments and positions, potential education reimbursement, various locations around the state.

Cons

Depending on the department, if a person is really proficient there, it may be hard to move on to another opportunity in a different one.

Great Company to work for

Pros

Great Pay and everyone is extremely nice. Upper Management is very approachable and usually recognizes you in the building. The majority of employees have been with the company for 10+ years. One of the top 100 companies to work for in 2010 (ranked #10)... Tons of traiing opportunities with in the IT department.

Cons

Behind the times on technology and vision. Not always a bad thing but hard to change the mind of some of the older vets. Employees tend to stay put and growth pretty much stays the same so opportunities for advancement are slim. After 1 year I feel my skills are begining to fade.
