Able to connect with landlords, hotel owners and meet with agency coalitions involved and interested in helping both sides of the issue

Slow process for each step due to HUD guidelines

Pros

After 10 years you have health Insurance for life.The benefits are decent they still offer a pension which most companies and organizations no longer do.

Cons

No opportunity for raises unless to apply for the same position the next level up and someone has to leave or retire. Extremely heavy workload. No continual training work practices and training is undesirable. The last raise the state provided to this division was approximately 8 years ago. As, the City of Houston grows our staff shrinks. We are severely understaffed
