Pros

Coworkers are helpful and friendly both in-person and online. In-person, the work culture was friendly and calm. Online (after COVID) everyone adapted and was still helpful through teams.

Cons

The knowledge base can be inconsistent as a resource- especially when there were many disaster/covid programs. Not sure what criteria they use for hiring, but regardless of meeting requirements it took 10+tries to be hired (pre-covid) and I encountered others who met fewer requirements and were hired before.

Pros

Great benefits working with the State. Medical insurance paid for and time accrual.

Cons

Difficult to move up because of "good old boy" mentality. Pay not comparable to cost of living.
