Pros

Learned Six Sigma and other functional business experience that has helped me with my career.

Cons

Not a very female-friendly culture. I had male colleagues say unprofessional and in particular when I was pregnant, inappropriate comments simply because I was female. There is almost no diversity. Unless you are an old, white male, this is not the place to work. There is absolutely no career growth or talent management. I worked with some very talented, smart people who either were laid off or left. By the time I left the company at the end of 2010, all the good talent was gone.

Pros

Excellent benefits, 401k and stock options

Cons

This company needs a lot of work when it comes to promoting within and by promoting within it's promoting qualified candidates for the job and not leadership favorites who are not qualified. They also don't post all jobs and pick and choose who goes into management positions. They have too much focus on interns and LDP's. These LDP's end up seeing the toxic culture and do not stay.

Pros

There are no benefits to working for this awful company.

Cons

Textron is the most soul-sucking and stifling company in existence. The company culture is about as exciting as wallpaper, and the leadership has no idea what they are doing. They lack professionalism entirely, and only choose to act once they realize they are in trouble. It is VERY political and old school. Their merit increases are horrible, there is no opportunity for growth, and they do not care about their employees, especially if you are a woman. You are forced to work to the bone and told that you have to come in early and stay late consistently. There is no work-life balance. Work is your life.
