Pros

-Decent pay but lower compared to industry - Flexible schedule depending on your supervisor and manager - Interesting industry to work for - Some people are nice and friendly

Cons

- The advancement of your career DOESN'T depend on your performance, results or work ethic, it depends on your relationship with the supervisor and manager. You need to suck up to higher ups before even moving forward. - Very toxic and stagnant environment - Growth is almost non-existent -Ancient technology - Most young, career driven individuals doesn't last more than 1 year in this place - Efficiency of processes is so low because management are NOT open to any new ideas or new processes which can be very frustrating for the people doing the actual work. - Different rules apply to different people depending on your supervisors - Very old school bureaucratic environment - Some of the people are peacocks and hard to work with - So many empty promises -0 accountability, mistakes done by higher ups are ultimately pinned down to the people below. There were instances where mistakes were found and occurred years ago but was somehow the associate's fault who just started. - Zero training - Poor quality of documentation to work with and primitive processes - Managers don't know what they are doing at times and demands associates to figure everything out. - Unfortunately some supervisors are condescending, unfair, sneaky and hateful. But there are other supervisors who were the coolest and fun to work with. - Politics exists everywhere but the negativity and frustration in this place is unbearable and super real that is why young talents leave within a year or two. - Overall toxic company culture

Pros

Great workforce at grass root level. Good tuition reimbursement program. First line managers seem to care about their teams.

Cons

Management decisions are based on fear and lack of quality information of what is really going on. There is a lot of spin. Lack of diversity in hiring, retention and opportunity.

Pros

As a defense contractor AAI gets really cool/interesting projects. A lot of the engineers are really smart/ good people to work with.

Cons

AAI/Textron does not care about retaining talent; employees are just a number. It is really difficult to advance in your group. Management openly tells employees best way to get a raise or promotion is to apply to a different group. However that is really difficult because you have to be friends with the managers. Positions are only posted for a couple hours, and the person they want to hire is told about it, then then take the position down.

Pros

The people at AJ's pizza across the street are great.

Cons

Most of the campus has been abandoned and left to rot, the buildings are literally falling apart. Workforce that has survived layoffs (now no more than a hundred or so) has been relocated to small building in the rear of the campus. Morale is low Talent hemorrhaging, most experienced folks from Engineering to quality to finance have either quit or been laid off. No serious investment in R&D. Company has failed to gain any foothold in the market with the new products it when it does come up with them. This is not a meritocratic environment. The value of your input is determined by your seniority. Similarly you are not rewarded for your performance, you are rewarded based on how many games of golf you've played with the senior manager in the past year.
