Pros

Good benefits, 4 weeks vacation, 401k. If you like travel, Thales gives you many opportunities to do so and it is great to take advantage of that.

Cons

Difficult to accomplish anything. Lots of travel in my position as program manager which i don't like. Thales is political and run by the french.

Pros

All the pros about this company left when the previous US leadership left the company. The current US leadership is on a path to eliminate as many positions as possible. The previous leadership that left focused on engineering, product development and customer relationship, the current leadership is focusing on saving the company money by cutting as much as possible.

Cons

Prepare to work overtime about 6-8 months. This company has a culture of passive-aggressively push for employees to work overtime. If you dont work overtime you will be noted and singled out during daily stand up, and it will go under your performance.

Pros

Work 9/80 and great 4 week vacation; if you are allowed vacation no interruptions

Cons

I am referring to IFE in USA: Never seen a company so disorganized with processes, roles and responsibilities. You have to babysit every step of the way. ExCOM & Senior management (VP, Directors, Managers) loves to put only a bandage since they don’t want to follow GBU and GBU doesn’t push Senior Management. Rotating people from France to USA in Accounting / Finance Departments that waste time retraining their own roles and responsibilities, also hiding true cost from East Coast vs West Coast. Even Finance Mgt or Project Controller Mgr don’t want to admit the wrong cost value. No wonder so many programs overspend, fast burn rate and employee turnover. Mgt, Directors and ExCom say things verbally, fudge the numbers so no paper trail and blame on the lowest point of their department (new employees). No accountability for Senior Management, Directors nor Dept Managers especially in Irvine, CA Alot of employees been over * 10 years because they never worked at another company to learn how to improve their own department or become true leaders. It’s funny, you have some Directors that don’t know how improve processes or how to use some of the tools; they go ahead and develop another excel file or to be under the radar; they don’t support their own employees below them (org chart); they don’t have any mitigation plan since they are not asked why you overworked your existing small group. Too many licenses paid monthly as not many usage, even cellphones wasted. People traveling doing personal errands during working hours. Having meetings and reviewing while driving. A lot of people in Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, Finance saying “Its not my job”. They don’t go outside the box. Overpaying vendors for invoices to undelivered services. NO WORK LIFE BALANCE Very lack of training to what process Giving to customer everything for free. Too many tools not properly trained and being pulled all over.
