Pros

External benefits associated with working for the national institute for artificial intelligence and data science. Salaries are at the higher end for some roles. Staff experience will vary depending on team / personal objectives. Work life balance can exist, or not. Pleasant, well looked after office space. Some appreciate the free drinks, fruits, and cookies.

Cons

Chaotic decision making; office politics rules. Senior management either invisible or rude to staff and collaborators who disagree with their view of life. Others describe Turing as the perfect place for people who don't care about their job or other people. Home to racism and discrimination - be fooled by the apparent diversity at your risk.

The Alan Turing Institute Response

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience and take cases of racism and discrimination very seriously. We do not want anyone to experience any form of discrimination at the Turing and would like to support you better and understand further details of your experiences. The best way to do this would be via Report + Support where you can share anonymous feedback or a named report (please be aware that with an anonymous report we won’t be able to offer individual support and will be limited in the follow up actions we can take). You can also contact myself directly for a confidential conversation if you would prefer. Yours sincerely, Clare Randall Director of People
