Pros

High end clientele hospitality experience

Cons

This company is more focused on their money than their employees and member well-being. First, member and employees ask for diversity in their advertisements and marketing only to receive no response. They want to reinforce white supremacy and have as little people of color in their marketing. For every group you'll see one asian or black person, if that. After the friction of lack of diversity, you can see that majority of the marketing is now building and architecture. This is also seen in their staffing anywhere that isn't housekeeping if you know what I mean. So don't expect a career for this company if you aren't white. While you won't hear any racism to your face this club enforces the "high clientele" "rich people " ideal. And don't worry, they will work you as much as possible for as little as possible.

Pros

I have been a yoga instructor at a number of different clubs and studios, and have been impressed with the professionalism, heart and integrity of The Bay Club. From the top-down, they have proven to care about their employees, and particularly during the shutdown due to COVID-19, they showed an ability to think outside the box, find new solutions and be nimble enough to pivot to ever-changing circumstances and laws governed by counties and states.

Cons

My pay was decreased by 25% due to COVID, to a level that is significanltly under market, particularly for a high-end lifestyle club.

Pros

Fast paced and growing company that is innovative. There is no one else doing what the Bay Club is doing. There are great people who work for the company who work hard and care. These people have become my friends in addition to being my associate. There is longevity with many associates being with the company for over 10+ years. Associate membership perks are a plus since my family can use the club and enjoy the offerings.

Cons

No work-life balance. You will always be working. There is no "day off" since emails and meetings occur every day of the week and you have to respond and take care of business as needed. Salary is also low and there isn't much appreciation for the work that is done. The wages do not match the cost of living so our salaries are still poverty level for Silicon Valley. There are some good managers but many are not very good managers, or rather not good leaders. They know how to manage the business but don't know how to lead.
