Great people, great mission... not so great otherwise

Pros

Co-workers across all departments are fantastic, especially those who work directly with the homeless community on a daily basis. Front-facing staff knows the struggles and obstacles of making sure these people get what they need, and they're usually quick to offer help or support to get problems solved.

Cons

The pay is extremely low for how physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding the associate and supervisor levels are, and there are very few chances for promotions or pay raises. Management is very slow to make changes based off of staff recommendations or needs (and honestly often disregards the on-the-ground realities for what they want the Mission to look like).

Pros

Our mission is excellent, and many of the people who work here are trying to serve the poor and needy to the best of their ability. The company tries hard to improve things, as far as hiring consultants and using inclusive phrasing/uplifting employees.

Cons

Summed up by the phrase "responsibility without authority".
