Great place to work A++++

Pros

The cloture and the people and the stability of the place. It’s like a well oiled machine that moves as it’s supposed to. Everyone is happy and knows what tasks to do. For the most part you are left to your own devices and freedom to get the job done.

Cons

The parking. Hands down. The parking situation is less than ideal. They are working on building a garage, but I have no idea when it will be finished.

Getting in the grove

Pros

Benefits, making your own money, not pooling tips. Beautiful hotel. Everyone is super nice. Training is good but long.

Cons

Parking is horrendous. Pay isn’t that great, $2.35 an hour plus tips. Added 20% service charge and you only get about 15.5%. For the hours I feel we should be paid the $10.98 an hour like other hotel/restaurants.

Incredible Company

Pros

Friendly, family-like work place. You are cared for. They are flexible with your scheduling needs and accommodate to your needs. Work life balance is the best available in the industry. Excellent benefits, including 6% match on 401k contributions. Paid holidays, vacations, personal and sick time. Paid maternal/paternal leave. So many opportunities for growth. It’s fabulous. Income is very stable and reliable. Management is excellent at ensuring fairness. Everyone is kind, happy and proud to work there.

Cons

Extremely high standards. You must meet uniform, grooming, etiquette, communication and service standards. I thrive in this kind of atmosphere, so I don’t consider this a con at all, but others might not like the pressure of meeting high standards every day. For ladies, even our hair and make up is held to a set standard. It can be an adjustment, but so worth the career opportunity.
