Pros

The Broad Institute was a great place to start working after college. The benefits are very good and the work environment is fun. When I started, there were a lot of great people working there.

Cons

It is very difficult to gain recognition for your work. While there is some lateral mobility through groups (in the genomics platform), most promotions are decided internally, with not many possibilities to apply for higher positions.

Pros

The people that work here are great. The science is engaging, and you get a sense that you are really helping progress important scientific discoveries. Great benefits, great life balance

Cons

The salaries are lower than industry standard, and there is not a lot of room for personal and professional growth

Pros

Research projects are cutting-edge. A lot of exiting projects and high-energy people around.

Cons

Commute to Cambridge is difficult. Organizational structure is very dynamic and hard to grasp.
