      Great minds, good compensation, excellent benefits, and exceptional professional development opportunities. It's a fun place to do research. In a nutshell, Broad Institute imbibes the elegance of academia in an industry-like environment where the research is driven by innovation rather than profit. One of the best places for doing genomic research as a postdoc.

      Cons

      Super competitive and not for everyone. To survive in this environment, you need to work long hours to compensate for the time you spend in meetings and seminars.

      Pros

      The science and projects are amazing. The people in both science and administration are passionate and exceptional. It is an exciting, fun and very challenging place to work. I really feel like I am making a difference and impacting the world every day I come to work.

      Cons

      I have worked in academia, industry and there is no place like the Broad Institute if you really love science and want to make a difference.
