Communication between departments was difficult because at times the hotel was so understaffed that many employees were asked to wear many metaphorical hats.

Following the Destination corporate takeover, the inn drastically transformed in terms of employee relations. High management turnover leads to even higher employee turnover, both of which probably stem from corporate's undervaluing and underpaying employees. Even those who have been with the company for over a decade see no upside in said loyalty. Poor health benefits. HR not there to help employees, but rather aim solely to keep corporate executives happy.
