      Good place for development, inconsistent in promotions, and poor in recognition

      Pros

      The best reasons to work for Clorox are that it's a stable work environment, so there's not a huge risk in losing your job. Second, there's a good focus on people development.

      Cons

      It's very competitive and as a result is very political. Second is that they keep changing promotions/job posting policies and seem to overlook the rules they set for themselves when they favor a particular employee.

      Pros

      They respect work and life balance. We are always encouraged to take time-off and make sure we take care of ourselves if we are ever sick.

      Cons

      They are extremely risk averse. The people in marketing are always trying to do what the safe thing is to do, which is why you don't remember much of what's been done. It's pretty boring stuff.

      Pros

      Good work/life balance. Decent pay. For good performers, many opportunities to move around the company to different brands, different job types, and different functions.

      Cons

      Culture of very slow decision making. Clorox brings in too much inexperienced talent, so you get too many mediocre performers hiding out all over the company. Very beaurocratic. Many different levels of management manage too few people at each level. Cheap. Weak 401k matching system. Too little celebrating successes, not enough money put behind the celebrations that do occur.
