Pros

You truly get what you put in. The effort, time, and dedication you invest are recognized and rewarded. Strong leadership support. As an Executive Assistant, I feel genuinely valued and appreciated. Continuous growth. My boss consistently challenges me to grow, improve, and expand my skill set. Impactful work. I’m able to use my skills in meaningful ways that directly support leadership and the company’s success. A culture that encourages accountability, ownership, and professional development.

Cons

This is not a remote or hybrid workplace. If you prefer a flexible or fully remote schedule, this environment may not be the right fit. The role can be demanding and fast-paced, which may not suit someone who prefers a slower-moving or strictly defined position. Type A personalities definitely thrive here, but those who are not get "weeded out" pretty quick. For the role of an Executive Assistant, success is highly contingent on the professional relationship with the executive you support. You work very closely together, and if there isn’t strong communication or chemistry, the role can become challenging.

High pressure - High reward

Pros

- When you do what you are supposed to, the reward and recognition are outstanding, they range from great bonus potential and gifts to hand written cards to offer appreciation. - Culture: A strong company culture reflected around people and the impact they directly make every day. - Feedback: You will always get direct and honest feedback at The Connor Group. - Ground up training: Every tech, sales person, manager, and regional manager have to learn the entire business. - Team work: Every property, market, and the company as a whole has a WE mentality, not an I mentality. - Benefits are unmatched - amazing 401K, vision, health plans!!!

Cons

- Growth opportunities as far as titles or more responsibility take too long and there isn't a clear path for many positions. The growth potential is there, but often times leaders are not on the same page about individuals or what said individual needs to do to accomplish their next goal. We have made several "growth" layouts over the years, none of which have been followed for more than a couple of months at a time. - We have had a lot of changes with system operation and people in the company within the last year that has resulted in sloppy and poorly thought through roll outs, This has caused more work for the people in the field. I believe we are at the light at the end of the tunnel, but sometimes we jump the gun and aren't good at recognizing it. - Recruiting Department: We are often urged to refer people and after many years with this company, despite how much I LOVE working here, I stopped referring people. The recruiting department doesn't follow up with candidates, which looks poorly on the person referring them and after several years only one of my twenty referrals has been hired. - We have a "drink the Kool-Aid" culture that is sometimes too strong.

Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed feedback. It’s clear you care deeply about the company and your experience, something we truly appreciate. The impact of our culture, benefits, and recognition program wouldn’t be possible without people like you who live it every day. You also brought up important points around growth alignment, field support, and recruiting follow-through. We know we have opportunities to improve in those areas and are continuing to evaluate how we can better support growth, streamline systems, and strengthen our recruiting efforts. Thanks again for continuing to raise the bar.
