Pros

The local store manager are engaged and provide good leadership. The LMS training is engaging and thorough. Good health insurance.

Cons

The company’s focus changed about 5 months ago. Instead of greeting customers and providing arch support solutions based on the customer’s NEED, the focus changed to, “getting them into a seat immediately.” Consultants were chastised for saying, “How can I help” before moving the guest into a chair. Salespeople are penalized for only selling shoes or socks- even when the customer isn’t interested in supports. Corporate has instituted a highly-competitive work environment, which isn’t healthy. Only those with the highest volume get “ups” for the next day, regardless of the reason. I received a perfect “shop” evaluation, but was still criticized by the district manager for things outside of my control. I received multiple positive comments in Google and Yelp reviews, Nothing was ever mentioned about going “above and beyond.” Instead of taking care of the customers, the priority is now about getting the customer’s contact information into SalesForce first.

Pros

I liked my coworkers and luckily had sundays off.

Cons

California Central Valley good feet store management sexually harassed female employees. Instructions to flirt and use femininity were not infrequent requests. Derogatory names from male owner in regards to female employees including but not limited to being called a “slut”. Lack of appreciation for employees that went above and beyond reaching the goals set for them by mngmnt. They told employed that they would never find better places of employment, their sales numbers (admittedly better than any other numbers they have seen) were insignificant along with achievements of 60 google 5star reviews. Male owner inappropriately touching female employees, rubbing their mid to lower back after making them cry from threats of firing after employees would ask for time off 6months in advance. New hires had to be attractive and fit, we would be asked if applicants were pretty prior to interviews and application submissions. It was disclosed by hiring manager that some individuals were not considered based on their physique. Unless you want to work for old entitled white conservatives, I would recommend steering clear. They work you 40hrs, discourage you from taking your 10minute breaks and encourage working through your lunch if it means you make a sale. They talked poorly of our coworkers in front of us, including discussing personal health and medication situations in front of everyone. If we stood up for ourselves, yelling and threats of being fired occurred. No benefits, employees hired for management positions receive no opportunity for growth.
