Pros

You can learn useful skills.

Cons

The department I am in is hostile to newcomers, holding them back from promotions while they do work that is above their pay grade, and then being told that they would be fired if they could not increase the amount of work they did. It is also extremely cliquey, where employees and management would often gossip about each other and bully anyone who wasn't in their in-group. Management frequently tries to get around overtime restrictions and disability accommodations. If you do not have a flexible schedule, you cannot attend many of the career enriching events that JAX holds, making it harder to advance. I would not recommend this workplace to a person I liked.

Pros

Quick to hire, get the experience needed to transfer out of the role

Cons

The organization suffers from weak management, often driven by individuals who appear to have advanced based on tenure rather than leadership ability. This has resulted in a culture where accountability is inconsistent—productive employees are overburdened while underperformers face little consequence. The lack of effective workforce management and reluctance to address difficult personnel issues has created inefficiencies and low morale among those who are committed to doing their jobs well.
