Pros are few and far between. Working with the students, I suppose, to an extent.

Cons

You know those ultra-conservative folks who think everything, even education, should be privatized? Well, this private, corrupt company is a perfect example of why regulation of schools is critical. Working here is worse than you can even imagine in every way imaginable.

teacher workload is INSANE. and all without a single break all day, not even lunch or a bathroom break. not a minute away from your class and a full day of EBD students without a break is inhumane. and for all this work, the compensation is pitiful. same pay for all teachers regardless of experience or number of degrees held and no raises.

A caring staff. The administration really wants to help the kids and the staff improve.

Cons

It gradually became more of a burden to remain with kids all day long. I became burnt out due to the increasing level of paperwork without the time to perform those tasks. The daily schedule became so compact that there was hardly anytime for grading papers, writing IEPs, meeting with parents, etc... Of course, doing work at home at night and during the weekend seemed to be an expectation. Why continue when there are other options that provide a proper lunch and time during the day to prepare. Somewhat sad to leave, but it was time to move on.
