Pros

Work life schedule flexibility. You work at your own pace, set own hours.

Cons

Lack of quality support, number of sales calls required to make a sale, selling something that doesn't even exist is very difficult, two required sales conferences in first four months (at my cost), initial training conference was cheapest I've ever attended, expect to not receive any compensation for five to six months, only about 10% actually make it into print.

The N2 Company Response

Thanks for your feedback on glassdoor. While it's hard to know for sure if you are with N2 or not (due to the nature of review sites like this), assuming you are a part of our team, I sincerely hope you know you can come to me with any questions or suggestions on how to improve our company. I'm very sorry to hear that you feel we are "very, very misleading". We do our best to let everyone know upfront that this is a very challenging position. That said, I'm not sure where your number of 10% came from, because the number is actually 50%. It was lower years ago, so maybe that's where the confusion came from. We've been working to do a better job of screening applicants, and improving our training process. Currrently, 50% of the people that go through our training will make it to print. Becoming an Area Director with N2 is very similar to college...not everyone who starts college will graduate. In fact, over 40% of college freshmen will not graduate (according to the Institute of Education Sciences). I don't believe those numbers mean that colleges don't do a good job of supporting those students, it's simply that finishing school is very challenging. However, I understand you feel misled, and I am sorry. I take responsibility, and I will take another hard look at our interview process and see if there are places that we are not setting clear expectations. And please, let me know specifically where along the way you felt misled. Our goal is to be 100% forthright. It is better for both parties when the expectations are clear up front. You are one of the rare cases where someone felt misled, but was still tough enough to overcome the unexpected adversity. I wish you success with N2, and I do hope that we can turn your feelings around in time and earn your trust. Thanks again for sharing.

Pros

Good training but you pay for it

Cons

It is really unfortunate that N2 conducts their business the way they do because they really disappointed me and had me fooled. They support their own fully so don't believe anything they tell you if you decide to leave. I wrote over 75K in contracts and sold into another publication and they NEVER PAID ME A CENT! I FAILED TO GET IT IN WRITING BECAUSE I TRUSTED THEIR WORD. I was specifically told I would be paid when the other publication went to print. This publication has gone to print and they REFUSED TO PAY ME! Let's not talk about the other contracts that I gave to the other publisher and was told that if they were converted over that I would get paid as a SALES Executive but NEVER A PENNY. I confronted the person over the Area and I heard "so sorry we don't pay anyone once they leave"....WHAT!!!! Then they told me they never said that. That is too bad because I really believed all the HYPE as well about their beliefs... and thought they were pretty genuine until the truth was revealed when they went back on their word. I guess that would be like any other "Organization" that puts on this front to give this good impression when underneath still lies greed. I am very upset about this injustice because I was waiting to get paid something for all my work.... and $0.00 is what I received. BEWARE!!! of this "Organization" and do your homework and get everything in writing. There is a reason why they hire the best lawyers to write the contracts so that people who are sick or dying couldn't get out of them so consumer beware also.
