Pros

Has a great mission, a truly global organization that is seeking the best approaches to ensuring that we conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends, Recent shift to approaching as the "benefits to human from nature" rather than "protecting nature for nature's sake". Has a very collaborative approach to working with corporations.

Cons

Marketing management team has some serious issues.

Pros

-Great mission, staff who work here are dedicated to the mission/conservation -Offers lots of flexibility about working from home, traveling, and office locations -Great colleagues, stimulating environment--I look forward to going to work everyday -Competitive salaries for NGO; good benefits -Ability to explore different career paths or programs through internal fellowship program -Semi-regular opportunities for professional development and/or conferences to learn new and innovative approaches/network

Cons

-Overly bureaucratic at times, limited ability to influence up -Staff work hard here, in some departments more than others. At least in my experience, its because people are dedicated to the work and want to see it through -Management quality varies across teams

Pros

Good funding relative to other environmental non-profits, nice benefits, big enough to make a big impact, pretty laid back and open culture, good work-life balance - and of course a nice world-saving-feeling perk.

Cons

Overly bureaucratic at times, some management issues, salaries seem to vary from underpaid to overpaid, sometimes difficult to move up without private sector experience (depending on department/field).
