Pros

People are kind, great mission/values, relatively 'flat' organization that isn't hierarchical. Encourage 35-hour work week, and can optionally take every other Friday off for "Nature Fridays" (if work hours earlier in week, get work done)

Cons

Because organization is hierarchical, decisions can take time. Also, some teams are all remote, which is great, but less of a sense of community than at other organizations/institutions. Often more work than can get done in a 35 hour work week, so the suggested work hours are great, but amount of work needs to back this up- since folks are passionate/involved in many projects, they tend to work more than 35 hours/week to get projects done.

Pros

- The people, by and large - the culture, One Conservancy - the benefits and how much TNC will match - maternity leave policies - Coda fellowships - ability to work or contact anyone else in the organization - autonomy and trust for you to get your job done (not micromanaging, though I had a great boss!)

Cons

- highly decentralized - large amount of positions (and power) held my white men and white women - not perfect - needs more time and money spent focusing on tribes and communities on the ground
