      Part-Time Good Pay and Experience

      Pros

      Call around in your department, if you find nothing, find another area on-campus that is close to your area of interest. There is always the little job fair and going online is a great tool. Try to get the stipend and your tuition taken care of, sweet deal.

      Cons

      In some areas, you won't get a lot of advice or general assistance. Since you are a grad student it's expected that you will pick up quickly.

      Pros

      As a researcher at OSU, I have had the flexibility to pursue my interests. Although the expectations are high, I have had very little pressure from advisers to work beyond my comfort level.

      Cons

      Like any postdoc position, it is not a permanent job. It is unfortunate that a university will not hire for long term. I've had little help from professors in finding permanent employment.

      Pros

      Bosses were very flexible with work hours, you set your own. You can call off if you need to for school. You can work more hours if needed. Management was very supportive of me and my future career.

      Cons

      The only con I can even think to come up with is that future employment opportunities were not existant. It's a wonderful place to work.
