      personal interactions program coordinators are open to new ideas and change supportive leaders if you have a good idea and some energy to invest in it lots to do on campus and in the city good facilities can take classes in anything

      Cons

      middle to upper management can be detached budgets are tight and always shrinking can work people too hard for lack of budget for new positions be prepared to pursue your ideas to the very end with only verbal support - no time or money committed

      Pros

      They have world class researchers with enough funding to enable you to pursue a variety of projects. There are also some excellent interdisciplinary programs.

      Cons

      compared to other Big 10 schools the salary is a bit lower and they don't cover as much of the benefit costs.
