Pros

The people, the people, the people! The Seattle office grew significantly while I was there and everyone that came though those doors was passionate about human rights. The local leadership is excellent. There are a lot of leadership opportunities within the local office. Benefits(health insurance, PTO, Sick time). There is a bonus structure to reward success. I was able to even attend a training in DC paid for by the company. Best of all, you get to make a difference!

Cons

A lot of attrition, canvassing is hard work and its easy to get burnt out. The pay, even for leadership wasn't low but wasn't exceptional either. There is another group in Seattle that pays significantly more. With that said, the Seattle TOT office just bumped their pay for canvassers from $15 to $17/hour plus bonuses. There are few leadership opportunities beyond canvass director if you are tied down to Seattle. (Better if you are single or don't have a family.)

Pros

The company is committed to impactful campaign work on progressive issues. As a start-up, the leadership is incredibly receptive and there's plenty of room for professional development and growth. It really feels like The Outreach Team has found its feet in the campaign consulting world, and it's exciting to see the breadth of clients grow. Compensation is outstanding for campaign work, and even salaried employees enjoy well-defined weekends. The level of professionalism is high, the office culture is engaging, and everyone is dedicated to the core progressive values of the campaigns. For both experienced campaign staffers and new people looking to get into politics, this company is worth checking out.

Cons

The work environment is dynamic, which means you sometimes need to be ready to quickly adapt to change. Overall, management is helpful in working through everything as things come up.
