Pros

The staff goes above and beyond to support their employees. Whenever assistance is needed, a supervisor is ready to guide and help you. Work hours are flexible and additional work is almost always being offered.

You are not compensated for paperwork.

Great Support

Pros

Perfect Playground has given me a lot of support during my first year as an OT. I did not have peds experience before beginning this job and they made sure that I was not left to figure it out on my own. On my first day a supervisor met me at each school site to assist with scheduling and figuring out the ins/outs of each school. After a few weeks of treating my clinical supervisor came out and spent a half day with me to give feedback on my therapy sessions and treatment suggestions for students I was struggling with. I had a weekly call with my supervisor (more often if needed) to go over any questions/concerns I had. If I emailed her with a question I never waited more than a few hours for a response. At least once a month I would get emails with treatment ideas that our supervisor would share with all the OTs and continuing ed courses that were offered. This was in addition to all the free resources that the agency made available to us. Each quarter our supervisor would host a group meeting where she would speak on a topic of everyone's choosing. She not only went over the theory but also gave us treatment activities that we could apply during our sessions. Once NYC closed for COVID we were given training on teletherapy as well as resources that we could use during our therapy sessions. The company also compensated us for time lost. I also really like their electronic billing system. The therapists who have been there longer have told me what it was like in the past to do the billing by hand and this seems to be much better. I worked with therapists in my assigned schools this year who used to work for the agency and now work for the DOE and they have nothing but good things to say about the agency and its supervisors.

Cons

There is a lot of paperwork but that seems to be the nature of what goes with the job when I talk with other therapists who work in schools.
