Hours are not good. Management has poor communication and a lack of cross cultural awareness. The upper management also uses "scare tactics" to try to motivate you but foreigners interpret that as "do you want to fight?" Unfortunately, this a Korean culture issue. They believe this is motivational when it is not. Those type of tactics just leads to making people angry. Maybe some Koreans are okay with this but when you hire foreigners of different backgrounds, it's common sense to approach them differently considering where they come from. If they do not approach them differently, they should give an orientation on WHAT TO EXPECT so there is better understanding to not take things personally.
This company has a high turnover rate because of the poor management skills. The vacation is crappy and sick leave for this position barely exists. If you work as an instructor, you have better vacation and sick leave. But the company does "freak out" if you're sick. They expect you to know when you will be sick which is nonsense. How can you know all the time when you will be sick? Only super humans.
The hierarchy and authoritative nature of the culture is leading to depression in society. Many Koreans hate this part but they do not know how to fix it.
