Pros

Simultaneously laid back and exciting atmosphere. Flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability. Free/discounted classes while you're an instructor/tutor. OK pay for a college student. Frequent company sponsored social events thinly disguised as training and conventions for staff and occasionally for invited instructors.

Cons

Unreliable hours. Low pay. (MCAT tutors get paid the most, and they have a very low ceiling.) Unprofessional/inexperienced staff. The offices go through non-instructional staff like a revolving door. Most stay for less than a year. The ones who are actually competent tend to get burned out after a short time or pushed out by new management (3 new directors in less than 4 years). To be fair, many are terrific people who really try to help, but the complete lack of organization and "fire-fighting" mentality make this a very bi-polar place to work. I have witnessed prevaricating staff members disparage other staff/instructors in front of/make excuses to/mislead not only students/parents, but also instructors and even other staff members. If you can live with the petty politics that go on in the office, this might be an acceptable place to work.
