Pros

Amazing servers, really yummy food, very small so easy to learn table numbers/tasks/etc

Cons

I saw another review on here talking about how everyone is walking on egg shells in fear of being fired and it inspired me to write my review because it's SO TRUE. They fired 4 employees within my few months there. I was told multiple times that I am doing amazing and that they were super impressed with my work ethic and abilities. I was fired a week later! The current GM is very clique-y and bases his decisions on his favorite employees' opinions. I came forward to the GM and DOO about being targeted and bullied by a coworker and begged them to keep it between us, within the same shift the person bullying me knew every detail of my conversation with them. I was fired 5 days later with the same "Unsatisfactory probation period" excuse. Private personal information about my life and my private messages with management via our scheduling app were also discussed and relayed to the coworker who was bullying me. Very unprofessional management team. Sidenote they do NOT wash those dishes. Lights are super dimmed once dinner service starts but trust me if you could see those wine glasses, silverware, plates, EVERYTHING had food or fingerprints or lipstick on it. The food is so good but for a place that is Michelin recommended it is disgusting. There silverfish in the lobby on one of my shifts.

Pros

- Managers get comped meals when they're on the floor, all other employees get 50% off - Mind numbingly easy job, which can be a pro or con, depending on the person. Lots of down time.

Cons

- Everyone is stressed and walking on eggshells about being fired all the time. They fired 9 employees in the 4 months I was there. And 2 left on their own as well, out of worry of being fired. MIND YOU, almost none of these people were doing things of fireable offense. Including myself. - For reference, one week before I was fired, I was told "I have a bright future at this company" by the director of operations. One week later I was randomly pulled into HR and told I had an "unsatisfactory probation period" which is a cop out they use for everyone they fire so they don't have to give an actual reason. My job was something a high schooler could do, genuinely. I was open and honest with them about not having enough work to fill my day and that I'm happy to help out wherever needed. And I can understand maybe not needing the position anymore realizing it's not enough work for a FT job, but BE HONEST about it. Own up to it and apologize for letting me go because of that. Don't use the BS excuse of me not being a satisfactory employee. Thankfully, I know my worth and I always knew I needed a more challenging job with actually involved critical thinking and problem solving. So I was already looking elsewhere for a new position, and this wasn't as blindsiding as I'm sure they thought it would be (and were fully ok with that too). But I really have no respect for the way they treat their team. It's very sad. I would not recommend taking a job here unless you want to be on constant edge all the time. I left a good job to come to The Ranch, and now I'm back at square one to find a new job. - No room for advancement either. They rarely higher within, they won't consider department transfers at all.

Pros

The food is great! The wine list is top-notch.

Cons

New owners have no experience running a restaurant staff, and overstaffing is a huge issue. They went from having a very experienced staff to calling each and every one of us "replaceable" and reminding us that they had "hundreds of people waiting in line to work there." They began hiring a very green staff - some of whom, this was their first serving job. The overall morale of the place is stifling and negative. There are better places to work for the same amount of money you'd be making at the Ranch.
