Pros

People are very nice, friendly and fun to work with. Pay is good for the work done. Easy to get into management positions. Decent hours. Higher management makes themselves visible - I've met the CEO many times since the start of work in September.

Cons

Have to do all the jobs of the store - ringing people up, picking orders, answering calls, cleaning up, inventory, etc. - which is a con and pro within itself. Many employees like to slack off and hide around or play on their phone all day, which makes it harder when you need to do all the duties in the store.

Pros

The pay is FANTASTIC so if money is your maint motivator, go ahead. However, to me it is not worth it for getting yelled and treated awfully on a daily basis. I wish I had left sooner.

Cons

The work itself: I am an average guy, but the amount of manual labor that I have had to do is intense. My biggest issue is the fact that there were very small girls working side by side with me, being asked to lift almost half their weight several hours a day! It is not a safe workplace. When you get hired they ask if you can lift 50lbs, what they fail to tell you is that you will do that every hour of your day since you are also expected to help customers load their cars. Career Path: job titles are arbitrary and mean different things from one store to another. So there are NO job descriptions, which makes yearly reviews incredibly confusing because you never know what you will be measured against. Upper management: Has little to no idea about the struggles and management style of the store, and makes blanket decisions that should fix everything in their eyes. Notorious for condoning store level management's behavior. Store Manager: The Restaurant Store is an extremely stressful place to work if you are not used to being treated with very little respect at a moment's notice, and even though the behavior is not ok, it is treated as normal and rarely addressed.
