Pros

Above minimum wage; flexible hours; beautiful location in the Monterey Bay aquarium with views of whales breaching and more

Cons

Poor management of individuals; few opportunities for promotion-- they let an employee go because she requested a raise after over 2 years of work that was stated in her contract; cheap; dishonest

Pros

One of the biggest pros about the position is that you hire your own staff and if you are an animal lover you get to get access to some behind the scene exhibits.

Cons

Cons are the base salary is no enough for the responsibility of the position, maybe I had a bad experience withe my boss. My manager was a micro-manager, always over your shoulder even when you have hings under control.

Cool First Job But...

Pros

Very cool co-workers, sometimes they move you to a different stand to work in, little summer parties, most of the managers were cool. I have made lifelong friends at this job that made working there much less boring. Free admission to the park on your off days and 50% off food as well

Cons

Co-workers are treated as second class citizens sometimes, management changes at a dime, very low pay for the amount of work you're doing, if someone gets in trouble, all the staff serves the consequence. (At one point you couldn't bring a purse with you into the park) Also the lunch cards. They took $4.00 off your check every day to pay for their food you buy for a lunch break. You might ask, "Can I just bring my own lunch so they don't take it out of my check" Nope. Whether you eat their (less than mediocre) food or not, they will take money out of your check for it. You don't get paid enough as it is, so I just think that is ridiculous.
