Pros

There is nothing good I can say about this company

Cons

I have worked at one of The Salem Group's client for a year, I got extensions, raises and very positive feedback while I was there, the only reason they could not continue to extend me was that they could only keep contractors for 1 year then they have to wait 90 days to bring me back in. I made the Salem Group alot of money! When the assignment ended I heard nothing from The Salem Group in 3 months!, In fact they deleted me from their database and told me that it is common practice and I have to reapply. The company is interested in me returning, since I am no longer in Salem's Database I am going to use another agency to work with the client and make them alot of money

First, please allow us to apologize: it sounds as if we miscommunicated something to you. We never remove candidates from our database - so, if we gave you the impression that we would be removing your file, we're very sorry. We would like to speak further with you regarding your eligibility for, and interest in, other assignments. Project Management roles, in particular, are highly specialized, so it can occasionally take time to find another position that is an exact match for your skill-set. That said, however, we are eager to explore with you what other types of assignments might work for you in the interim. Again, please accept our sincerest apologies for what appears to be a miscommunication on our end. We look forward to speaking with you in person to determine how we might work together, moving forward.

Salem prides itself on the ability for our employees to enjoy long-term careers with us, as so many of our employees have. The degree to which an employee advances, however, is always dependent upon the individual, as our company culture is one which embodies passion and dedication for the work we do. Our open-door policy invites you to regularly air concerns or ask questions, in order to facilitate effective two-way communication. We thank you for your feedback, and we do invite you to have a direct conversation with us about how you believe we at Salem can create the best possible environment for our employees in the future.

Pros

The best pros that came out of this job where my co-workers who always went above and beyond to assist me.

Cons

-Unprofessional Upper Management – Leadership lacks professionalism and effective communication. There is little to no support from upper management, and decisions often seem disorganized or poorly thought out. -Disorganized and Ineffective Training – The training process is chaotic, unstructured, and provides little to no real guidance. New hires are left to figure things out on their own, leading to confusion and frustration. -Unfair Treatment & Inconsistent Policies – Some employees are given the privilege to work from home while others are required to come in without any clear reasoning. Favoritism is evident, and policies are applied inconsistently. -No Clear Direction or Leadership – There is a severe lack of structure, leadership, and overall vision for employees to follow. Expectations are unclear, and there is no real sense of growth or development. -Toxic Work Environment – The combination of poor management, unfair treatment, and lack of support creates a negative and discouraging workplace. Employees often feel undervalued and unsupported. -High Turnover / Revolving Door – Due to these ongoing issues, the company struggles to retain good employees. There is no real effort to improve the work culture or address concerns, leading to continuous turnover. -Not a Good Fit for Career Growth – With no proper training, leadership, or fair treatment, this is not a place where employees can thrive. It is not an ideal environment for long-term career development or job satisfaction
