Pros
Training team, technical support, several members of upper management approachable. Travel to other properties occasionally. User-friendly property management software. I appreciate the connections I made and some of the skills I learned/honed while in this position. Training on-site at corporate headquarters (face-to-face interaction with members of corporate).
Cons
Accepting a full-time position, I knew that some weeks may exceed 40hrs. However, that became the norm and not the exception. The salary I accepted was realistic for a 40hr position, but unreasonable for the amount of time/energy I poured out in actuality. While my on-site team was lovely, hard working, and supportive, upper management actions indicate they care more about profits and looking good on paper than they do about actual employee and resident experiences. Corporate speaks of employee well being, self-care, etc, but does not provide/foster an environment in which those things are realistically attainable. Conformity—my experience was that unique/new ideas were not very welcome (or would only be implemented if a superior “thought of” said idea(s)).
