Pros

Ability to negotiate salary and be reimbursed more than district hired employees. Especially if you look up what the company is being paid hourly for your services from the district (it’s all public information.) You can also be moved very easily if you don’t like the placement you get assigned.

Cons

The healthcare has gotten much worse in the past couple of years. Very expensive and covers very little. 401k WITHOUT company matching. Very difficult to get adequate PTO. Will attempt to convince you that PTO is only possible with significant cuts to hourly rates.

Not Awful, Not Great

Pros

-You have a lot of independence on a day-to-day basis. -They give you iPads to use for therapy and have a great range of assessments to choose from both electronically and pen and paper.

Cons

-There's very little guidance throughout the process, if you aren't OK figuring things out on your own, definitely not the company for you. -They will place you at any charter school in the city you apply for and you won't know the location until orientation. -Unmanageable caseload. -Salary is basically enough to live paycheck to paycheck with little room for extra activities, and if you don't choose spread pay you don't get paid when the kids aren't in school.
