Pros

I love working at the Transfer Center. If you are looking to get away from the bedside, this is the perfect transition. This job allows you to continue using your critical thinking, clinical expertise, and knowledge of critical care, without having to work in the hospital.

Cons

The pay is slightly less than bedside nursing, however, this is a con that I think is worth it.

Pros

It's got it's pros and cons. As a social worker the shift is mon-fri 8 hour shift. No weekends. Holidays are usually off but you have to use your PTO. Youcan be floated to any hospital in the valley health system in Las vegas.

Cons

HR is slow with processing a lot of things. DCPs are allowed to work 4 tens but social workers aren't Being forced to use your PTO to be off on the holiday when it's the department that doesn't allow you to work.

Pros

There was a job opening when I needed it, and I accepted the position.

Cons

No growth potential. Stuck in the same job year after year. Pay raises were small. Initial salary was greatly reduced from when I heard about the job and when HR actually called to offer it to me. I almost declined but figured I would work my way up and into a better paying position but that was not the case.
