Pros

Good management tools, great training system, gives young people a lot of room to grow, you'll learn way more starting here than a place that doesn't let you make mistakes.

Cons

You have to drink the kool aid to work at Walsh long term. You're expected to live for the company and give up your personal life. Instead of hiring estimators, PEs were expected to go into the office for estimating after putting in a full day and thensome. They would let go people after telling everyone to stay through the end of projects, saying theres plenty of projects in the pipeline. Full on lies.

Pros

A growing multi-billion dollar company that hasn't lost its sense of identity or values. Access and interaction with upper management is encouraged, talent and dedication is noticed and rewarded. Archer-western/ Walsh group is well positioned to be one of the elite companies within its area of influence, as a builder and contractor. Many, many, smart people are working in concert to achieve success. Management is dedicated to better, faster, means and methods, and promotes the hiring of young achievers coming into the engineering and building trades.

Cons

To be expected, in the construction industry there isn't much time to do much other than work. Its the nature of the business. I have met some great people at work though, and it is beneficial to have access to individuals of disparate backgrounds and experiences and knowledge in every direction.
