Toxic Work Environment for Minorities

Pros

There are a lot of diverse projects, and opportunities to learn. Because the company is so big, there is always work and you will always be busy

Cons

You'll have no chance of a promotion or any forward movement if you are not a white male. Very condensing attitude towards minorities and women. They claim to be inclusive, but management have created a toxic work environment for all minorities. Extreme nepotism - if you're not related to anyone in management, or have the last name "Walsh", you will be overlooked and they will take your place. No clear direction or management. Office pretty much runs itself. VPs are in constant competition, so relocation is the same as quitting. If you take a job at another region within the company, you will be fired for disloyalty. The story is known by everyone. Employees are replaceable. A VP literally screamed at everyone on a national conference call saying that half of the employees in the room could be fired, and the company would still be profitable. Never feel safe or secure in your job unless you are related to someone higher up.

Pros

I enjoyed working with a great team on an exciting project. Walsh has competitive salaries and decent benefits. I only stopped working with them because the project came to an end and there was not another one planned in city (and I am not able to move at the moment). I would definitely work for Walsh again in the future.

Cons

Five year project was insufficiently staffed at the front end, which made the remaining duration of the project challenging.

Pros

They do all their best to keep their employees, they have big projects, you will learn a lot, you will be exposed to the newest technologies in the industry.

Cons

Not everything is perfect everywhere...But it is well better there than a lot of places.
