Pros

Great place to work, respectful workplace, no limit on what you can do if you're willing to work hard.

Cons

For me it's the commute as I live in suburban Maryland.

Well said! The opportunities are endless within The Washington Post, especially if you embody our catalysts- shape ideas, redefine speed, take ownership and lead. Since our headquarters is in downtown Washington, D.C. the commute can be tough coming into the city. We hope the commuter benefits help ease some of the tension. Since we've been working from home since March due to the pandemic, we hope you're enjoying a new kind of commute to your work-from-home space.

Pros

World-renowned paper, gets much respect from other employers, friends and family. Better funded than most media. A lot of software development happening.

Cons

Retention of pre-Bezos employees seems to be very low priority. The union is weak, don't get stuck in a union job. Very little promotion from within. Culture is fake.

We’re glad to see that you are happy with the reputation and the tech growth of The Post. We’re proud to combine world-class journalism with cutting-edge technology. We also appreciate your candid feedback about the culture and benefits. We would like to know more about that. Please feel free to confidentially email us more details to life@washingtonpost.com so that we can take a look into both more thoroughly.

Pros

The biggest pro is that it's...The Washington Post. It's a legacy brand that I grew up with, and a brand that is recognized for its integrity and credibility. In other words, a brand one can be enormously proud to work for, and I am.

Cons

None that I can think of.
