Pros

flexible schedule, work from home

Cons

I took this opportunity because I was promised a learning environment & advancement. NOT TRUE. Managers are not trained in Management. Second level managers don't trust their managers or their employees. There is a lack of professional respect that permeates all levels of employment. Director level managers are petty, nasty, and gossipy. The culture is sad. No one smiles, no one says hello, no one builds relationships outside of their position/area. It is a shame that I really liked my job, I saw lots of potential in the team, but the Senior Manager is moody and insecure. I was treated as less than or ignorant. They treat their employees like garbage. Everyone operates to "CYA", no one takes responsibilities, but there is always a fall guy, usually the guy who can't make decisions anyway. This company has great potential, but they are their own worst enemies. STAY AWAY, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME DRIVING TO SLEEPY LA PLATA!

Pros

The Wills Group cares about its employees, community and customers. They offer great opportunity to learn or earn a degree. Many of my colleagues have earned their MBA with the company paying for the degree. The company is very active in the community and offers payed time off to volunteer in the community. They also will match charitable donations. When it comes to the customers, I have heard it so many times, do the right thing.

Cons

The Wills Group is transitioning from a wholesaler to a retail organization and lines get blurred at some points which makes it hard to prioritize and focus.

Thanks for your review. We're working hard to implement programs that are designed to help our employees learn and grow in their careers with the company. We also care deeply about being an active participant in the communities in which we work. There's a lot of work ahead of us, but we take comments and feedback to heart, and will do our best to incorporate them into our plans.
