Pros

There are some fun people here. We work hard during the heavier months, but play too. Once the former CEO "got the boot", things improved quickly. Unfortunately, the former CEO kicked out or scared off some great talent that we can't get back. At the same time, we hung onto a person who should have left with the CEO. It was a weird time, but it's better now.

Cons

The company is poorly positioned for the challenges ahead. We have too many "supermarket" brands that are less than $10. The market is above $10 now and I believe our volume or value market shares are 95% in below $10 market. Scary! We tend to rely on outdated equipment and scary -- questionable --- equipment and practices. We also tend to rely too much on creating new brands from thin air and it only works a small fraction of the time.

Pros

Management is accessible. Some pretty good people in the working ranks. Fair compensation in some areas. Freedom to try new things in production (within reason).

Cons

There is too many accountant type company officers. The leaders lack leadership skills; too many yes men. Company values are not practiced. Nepotism makes working conditions uncomfortable. Career paths are certainly not defined.

Pros

Management leads by example. The organization feels very flat and each executive is approachable, following the company mantra of "we don't work with jerks". CEO and CSO know everyone's name and thank them for their work. Each individual is given the opportunity to make meaningful contributions from day 1 and managers recognize and reward achievements. The product portfolio is strong and the company is well positioned. You have the opportunity to develop newer, better ways of doing things and make your mark. Compensation is very good.

Cons

Not a lot of fixed best-practices and little formal training. Some of the systems are antiquated. This is a lean organization, which can cut both ways. It sometimes feels like there is a lack of resources, but that is probably better than being a bloated organization. Ownership feels a little like a secret society. The path to achieving this status should be more clear.
