Pros

The therapist themselves are highly dedicated to providing quality care to their clients and collaborating with fellow therapists.

Cons

Please read till the end… **Disclamer** I am not writing this as a retaliatory review, but rather an informing review and things I wish I would have known before investing any time with this company. I feel the information listed below is valid and truthful, which does not get mentioned on here often enough due to fear. A typical day at work would include seeing children for back-to-back sessions every 30 minutes with no breaks in between to do things such as use the restroom, document, or prep for session without interfering with the next clients scheduled time. Documentation itself is extremely lengthy, making it difficult to keep up with providing quality services for the client, while also meeting the expectation to have it completed in the same day. If documentation is not completed the same day, it quickly piles up. Upper management will complain about documentation not being done while not offering a solution, such as a break, to get it caught back up. Some therapists have been noted to complete prior client’s documentation during current client’s session in order to avoid disciplinary action. Company only provides one break during the day which is a mandatory hour-long lunch break that most employees spend working during in order to stay on top of all of the documentation requirements. Company "encourages" employees to leave positive reviews with compensation being mentioned. Employees have been noted to not leave truthful reviews due to fear of retaliation. Company does not provide adequate support to assistants or new individuals but expects them to treat any and all disabilities no matter their educational level or experience level. This leads to children receiving subpar treatment while families are left in the dark and paying full price for services. Company is inconsistent with treatment of employees "biased towards some employees", inconsistent expectations, and inconsistent disciplinary actions. Unclear policies and goals for employees. Management is poorly informed of management duties and policies. Companies turnover rate is high, and therapist are being brought in monthly only to leave within on average of less than 6 months due to working conditions. Parents/Clients have reported concerns about therapists constantly changing and children constantly being swapped between many different therapists. Parents/clients have requested consistency from clinic but made impossible due to high turnover rates of staff. It is my professional recommendation to avoid Therapy Tree as an employer. The one positive thing about is this company is their therapists. Therapists tend feel conflict in their support of Therapy Tree once they release that Therapy Tree cares more about their financial gains versus the quality of care provided to their clients and high burnout rate of therapist. As a professional, I understand that Therapy Tree is a business and money is an important factor in keeping the doors open, however my concerns noted here are regarding lack of ethical practicing. They are unethical in their treatment of their employees and unethical in quality of care being provided to their clients. Therapy Tree, I hope you take the time to read this review and think about ways you can restructure your company to improve your working conditions for employees and ensure that your client’s interest/level of care come first. Sincerely, Prior Therapist

Pros

Great team of therapists that were all very collaborative Materials provided Hour lunch

Cons

This was my first SLPA job and it sounded great when I was hired. I quickly realized this was not the case as I was treating 18+ kids a day. They also have “classes” which is group therapy that you are expected to plan for and lead without any extra prep time or compensation. I was constantly drowning when working here, and I never felt like management took me seriously when I came to them with concerns because I was new to the field. I loved the families I worked with, and my coworkers were amazing but the environment is unsustainable. I left because I knew the quality of the therapy I was providing was not as good as it could have been due to feeling burnt out all the time even though this was my first year of treating. Also my supervision was almost nonexistent, I got feedback on treatment notes occasionally through our documentation system, but I think I got direct supervision maybe twice in my year of working there.
